Reading notes

Percentage, ratio and profit

Percentage means per hundred: 15% of 200 = (15/100) × 200 = 30. A ratio 2:3 represents five equal parts in all. Profit percentage is (selling price − cost price) ÷ cost price × 100; always check which quantity is the base.

Factors, multiples and geometry

HCF is the largest common factor; LCM is the smallest common multiple. For two positive integers, HCF × LCM equals their product. The angles of a triangle total 180°, so two known angles determine the third.

Practice Mathematics questions covering Percentage & Ratio, HCF and LCM, Geometry & Triangles, Profit, Loss & Interest, Number System & Basic Algebra, with instant scoring and explanations.
